High-Low Trend; the Mullet of the Fashion World

Happy Labor Day weekend! I can't believe Summer is done. The weather has been perfect here. A little warm, but not scorching. Just warm enough for strapless dresses.

The latest trend is the high-low length. A high-low skirt or dress has a shorter hem in the front and longer hem in the back. Some have described it as the mullet of the fashion world. I am in love with this trend because it is sophisticated yet flirty and has a great flowy feel. It is very flattering and can give the "vertically challenged" an illusion of longer legs. For us taller girls, it showcases our long limbs. It's very versatile and can be dressed down or up depending on your accessories and shoes.

Below is a dress I found at Nordstrom in the BP section and it was $52. It's light weight and airy and I love the pattern. I'm happy to see the trend continuing in to the Fall. So, try it on and see how it works on you!

THIS OUTFIT COST $18 !! WHATTTTT?!!

I was doing my bi-weekly shopping visit to Target, DETERMINED to stick to my list of razors, soap, kids shampoo and dry erase pens (for back to school, which were impossible to find), and of course I had to browse the clothes. I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything for me, when this pretty little red dress jumped out at me and said, "TAKE ME HOME"! It was my size, on the clearance rack and ONLY $6.00, so naturally I adopted it! I just LOVE this dress and the best part is I had a necklace at home that matched it perfectly! Such a fun, flirty, comfortable dress that can be dressed up or down. OHHHH and the sandals are on sale at Target for $12~ I bought them at the beginning of summer, but are now on clearance.
In conclusion, rush on down to Target and stock up on their SUPER cheap and very fashionable deals!

I'm BACCCCKKKKK!

HAPPY END OF SUMMER ALL! Sorry I have been absent with my posts; kids were out for the Summer and my life was HECTIC! But, the first week of school is down and I have found time to write this silly blog (= I have TONS of scores, deals, and outfits that I have found over the summer and plan on getting to them all. I just wanted to post a quick "hi" and show you my outfit of the day. I found this top, that I just LOVE, at my fav store Anthropologie. They are having a great sale right now BTW! I will post my finds next. As you can see, this top is FULL of color. I paired it with some very bright fuchsia jeans from the Gap I had, but if you aren't that bold and there's enough color in the top alone, this looks GREAT with jeans! It's also silky and blousey so it hides any tummy issues or muffin tops. I find it to be a great top and well worth the $$$ Ok, off to bed I go. Perfect MINT jeans!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT IS JUNE!! Wow, we have some very crazy weather as well. Sunday it was 88 and HOT then, Monday it was 57 and raining!
I, for one, can not wait for the summer! I love hanging in the backyard, swimming and BBQing! There also just seems like there is SO much to do and events going on in the summer! So naturally, there are lots of opportunity for cute, stylish, affordable outfits (=
I have been hunting for a pair of MINT jeans for a few months now and FINALLY found the perfect hue! BEST PART, it was at TARGET for $24.99! They are SUPER cute and flattering. They come in some great colors as well. They are Mossimo but NOT the Junior size (odd numbers), the real size (even numbers). I HIGHLY suggest trying a pair! I paired the skinny jeans with my tank from Nordstrom (which is on sale for $12!). I just picked up the earrings at Costplus for $9.99. That is my new jewelry go to place! SO CUTE AND AFFORDABLE! Oh and my ultra cheap yellow flip-flops from Old Navy completed the outfit $15!
The other outfit I listed was a super cute blue polka dot top from Anthropologie (my happy place). It is a bit pricey at $78, but VERY well made, VERY versatile and completely worth it! You can pair it with so much, like the white skinny jeans I pictured below (yes ladies you can ROCK a pair of white jeans! ESPECIALLY with a top like this that is flowey and can hide your assets). You can also pair this top with a white linen or cotton skirt for the summer. It will also carry over nicely into the fall season with a pair of skinny denim jeggins and some knee high brown boots. Like I said it's versatile and a great investment! It runs a bit big, so I would size down.
Ok, that is my mini post for now. I have a new obsession of DRESSES that I will rant about soon! I have found some REALLY cute ones. Until then, go out and find some color, embrace summer and the wonderful, bright hues that come with it!
